I have had a request from someone to open my tree to them, I really want to as I know we are connected. I have so many messages in my contact section (over 20 pages) I can't find the persons name to open my tree to them. Is there a quick way. Betty

Betty, if you can, ask them to pm you again, then in contacts, click on date and it will show you the latest contact, this hopefully should be the one you want to open your tree to. Or as Reg said, look for a thread titled request to view your tree.

If you go to your contacts list and click on the date heading it should put them into date order for you. Have you not still got the message on your message page which will give their name?

Thanks for replying Reggie, I received a pm and I know I am connected to this person's family but I don't know what link you mean. I have over 22 pages of messages in my contact list and can't find this persons name. Betty

Why did you change your text to bold? It was perfectly legible before............... Reg

If you had a message which had as its title 'request to view your tree'.....all you need to do is click on the link at the bottom Reg

If this was your most recent contact, just click on the word 'date' at the top of the list and it will bring the most recent of your contacts to the top of the list. Kath. x

If your contact is a married woman, one will be her name on the board and one will be her maiden name. She should come to the top of the list if you click on Date. Kath. x

Betty, it is probably the married/maiden name thing again. Contacts in one name, pm's in the other.

Well, take a chance and write to all of them otherwise you may miss out on the info you want. No one will mind if you make a mistake. But cant you do a tree search, find the matching names and then email her that way?

Yes it was the name difference I think. I didn't know it was the same person. Anyway I have managed it now I think, also sent her a pm asking if she can now open my tree but she hasn't replied yet. Hope I have done it correctly. Thanks everyone for all your help. Betty
