I'm trying to find a birth record for a friend..her grandmother's, and we've just recieved her marriage certificate. She was married in Bromley Kent..so it's possibly she was born there.

If that was the case, would the Registration District be Bromley or does come under a Different town/city...or perhaps a Saint's name..like St Mary's, St Olaves etc.....??

Regards...Teresa

Hi Teresa, Bromley Kent was a registration district in its own right until 1965 when it became Bromley GTL (Greater London). Take a look at this site it gives all registration districts and areas covered by them.. http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/REG/

Teresa, could the witness James be the father of James? Bromley covered these areas:- Beckenham Bromley Chelsfield Chislehurst Chislehurst & Sidcup Cudham Downe Farnborough Foots Cray Hayes Keston ]Knockholt Mottingham North Cray Orpington Penge Sidcup St. Mary Cray St. Paul's Cray West Wickham BUT she does not necessarily have to have been born in Bromley to marry there.
