At what point are you stuck? You cant rely on other peoples research - you have to do your own. If you do get a hot match it doesnt mean their info is correct anyway. So starting from yourself, collect together your birth cert and go backwards through your parents marriage cert, their births, their parents marriage and so on. Start from the facts you know and work backwards through them. If you are going to research your family you will need aids like ancestry sub which will give you the census 1841-1901 - check out the tips for newbies threads on here and the getting started info on the home page.

Sharina Start with what you know and work backwards, and always double check everything!! If you want to post some names/dates then I'm sure a few people on here will point you in the right direction. regards Looby

Hi Sharina. If you have any grandparents etc born before 1901 you might get a census look up. Also you could get marriage details but you need to add some names so people can look for you. Margaret
