You have to go page by page thru the marraige registers , and hope the remained pretty much in the same place you may need to but some of the certs to confirm fathers names as they prob married after 1901 - before then its a bit easier to find clues |

how do i start look for the marriages of walter clarke b 1880 oadby leicester enrest clarke b 1883 oadby ivy clarke b 1884 oadby herbert clarke b 1885 oadby maud clarke b 1889 oadby iv no idea how to start looking for these have found their births but not sure of when they got married or if some didnt ??? sarah |

Well are they all on the 1901 census as single people? If so, start after that date. You could try freeBMD but that isn't complete and only goes upto about 1915. The only way is to trawl the full indexes quarter by quarter, year by year. The problem will be that Clarke is quite a common name so I'm not sure how you can be certain that you have found the correct marriages, other than buying the certificates which could prove expensive. The indexes are free to search on Ancestry, you just need to register. Sam x |
