Advice please. Both of my grandfathers were soldiers in the army during WW1. They both originate from Ireland and I assume would have joined up from there. How do I find out about their war records. They both survived and made it back to Ireland. Thank you Sandie |

If they served in WW1 they should have a medal card, you can search for their medal cards on the national archives site http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/power-search.asp?searchType=powersearch Roy |

Roy and Denis, Thank you both very much. I was able to find my paternal grandfather and a possible regiment for my maternal grandfather. I must say I had a little cry when reading. I have bookmarked both to have a really good look. Sandie |
