I know the date my mother died but cant find any other info. sent for death cert and letter came back to say a she was aka someone else and married to to a thomas Fogarty which name do I start with? maiden, married or aka ?? |

Her birth cert will help ,plus am assuming she married then lived with the AKA .so a marriage cert will help too. You probably have your birth cert so that will give you mums name and any maiden name |

shirley thanks but my mother seems to have changed her name when she got to England so am chasing 2 names then hit a blank wall ? |

Hi Dorothy My what a headache. Was she married before she came to England. are we talking Irish records ? did she live with the AKA after she came to England |

Hi Dorothy When was your mother's birthday, how old was she when she died?? Have you got a marriage cert? Have you got your own birth cert? You need to start off with something concrete and work back. Jennifer |
