I need to order a birth cert online, I have the reference number but only have December 1875, I dont actually have the full date - It wont let me order without putting the date in properly?? how do i find the actual day? I have 2 Thomas Williams bor in 1875 (one registered in June the other in December) how do I know which one will be the correct one?? any help wouldbe much appreciated!, thanks

No it wont let me get past without putting a full date in ?? No I dont have the fathers name either, I only have the mothers name.

You dont need a specific date. the name the qtr, year and ref number is enough,with his name of course (there is a tick box if i remember correctly) you may like to add a fathers name as a check point, if your know your mans fathers name name.

Sherry There is a question on the form which asks if you have the GRO refs..........you must 'check' the box which says yes.............or they will want the date. You need........... Type of event.......birth, marriage, death. Year of event Qtr in which registered. The GRO refs........(Volume no and Page no) The name of the person............. Nothing else is actually needed, although you can enter additional details if you are certain they are accurate. Reg
