I have death cert. which says my relative was born in Leicester but the BMD Indexes say she was born in Shoreditch. Would it be safer to take the indexes. Lin |

The information on the death certificate will have been given by the person who registered the death and they may have thought she was born in Leicester....If all your research says the birth index you have found could be the right one I would go with that. Gail. |

Hi Georgina, The one in question says date & place of birth. The informant was her son so thought he would know where his mother was born. |

Hi Lin I wouldn't trust the death cert I looked for months for my grand parents in Leicester it turned out only my mother and siblings were born there every one else was from Bedfordshire. Paul |
