Question re: Legal age to marry please

If the legal ages were 14 for men and 12 for girls am I right to assume that on a marriage cert when it says in the age column 'with parents consent' that it means that they were over 14 and 12 but under 21? Mary |

You had to be over 21 to marry without consent before 1929.....but many lied |
