Depends on what you want it for. You can view the full bmd index on ancestry for free. If you are thinking about census info, it would be much better value to get a sub to ancestry all census 1841-1901 - you can get 2 weeks free trial.

I have just signed up to a 30 day free trial on Ancestry. What we did was say yes to sign up and then abandoned it and then a pop-up appeared saying we can have 30 days free. Ancestry is one of the better websites for census records.
