Hi Kathlyn Sorry late answering l started with my mums side as that is the side l thought l knew most about but true to sods law l only had my grandparents names to go on Lucky enough l have had a lot of help through look ups mainly on here But my mums side l started on a Yorkshire website were not only did the lady give me census info but burials of some of my lot too. lt was an uncommon name there so easy to spot who was who Then l decided to do my dads side Thanks to so many one here l not only got a 1901 census but they took it back to 1841 Then came hubby's side surname Powney great not much problem but his mums name is Morris Thanks to a great lady on ancestry (after lots of help on here) She actually lives in the village they were from and did parish record look ups for me Likewise with Staffordshire a nice gentleman helped with parish records there l know this seems like l don't do the work myself but l'm severley disabled and am restricted on funds. l did swap about when one side dried up Now l find l'm retreading old ground as l find out new information l've decided because most of my family originate lreland with no county given to close that part l cannot go back any further than mid 1700s on either of my husbands side So l feel l have enough to close the books as it were l'll never stop seeking out relatives though even if its just to help them out lt's a daunting task writing up your information but l'm trying to be controlled in as much that l give relevant information in a way to keep young readers interested. l don't want it just to be just names dates and places but l want to try and give my ancestors life. Tell a little of the times they lived in .Transport, work, cooking, clothing. Also l was lucky enough to find a cousin of my mums who had photos of most of the family and a little write up on their characters. l hope l haven't waffled on too long for you - are you still awake lol lf oyu want to ask me anything message me and l'll give you my email address Best wishes Pam
