Hi I am trying to find out how I would find parents names for Christopher Bird born c1827 in Horsley, Glouc. I have ordered his marriage cert which gives his father as Thomas Bird. In 1841 he is living with his grandmother and in 1851 he already married. Would there be any other records that would have his parents details down eg. School or something like that. Thank you David |

David if Ann Jones on the 1841 census is Christopher's grandmother then this could be his parents marriage.... THOMAS BIRD Male Event(s): Birth: Christening: Death: Burial: Marriages: Spouse: ANN JONES Marriage: 06 APR 1820 Horsley, Gloucester, England Georgina. |

Thanks Georgina, I saw that marriage and convinced myself I could not be sure if it was them or not. Although is does seem likely now that I think about it. I think the census's were a bit wrong because on his death cert he is 66 in 1891 so there is a bit of confusion. THank you David |

David, The censuses may be wrong but it is more likely that the age on death certificate is incorrect since the person who knows the age best is prevented by circumstances from telling the registrar. Peter |
