I am trawling through the 1881 census and so many of the names are illegible or on the record have just a first name written. Is there anywhere to go to see a list of the entries that could not be deciphered, or transcribed? Perhaps that's where my chaps are hiding! |

Not that I know of. Who are you looking for? The 1881 census is full of mistranscriptions. Kath. x |

Hi Kathleen Yes, I have to agree, 1881 seems to have more than usual . I have been looking for my great great uncle as I talked about in my other thread yesterday. I am seeing lists of just first names, lists of just birthdates etc. so am thinking perhaps he is amongst that lot. Just wondered if they put those in a special place. ( I have already looked at all the Josephs for the area and he isn't amongst those so he may have been hiding.) Oh well, back to the search! |
