I am having little joy in trying to find my Irish ancestors. I Have very little information to go on other than My Grandparents names and approximate YOB and death. Can anyone suggest a good place to start? All help gratefully received. Thanks. |

It's really hard-my mum is Irish, i have been to Ireland and scoured her local parish records for info + graveyards--a lot of records are still held by local churches(especially catholic) and loads were lost to time in a fire in 1911. If you google Irish family History there are lots of sites which give help Carol |

Thanks for your tips. My Irish family hail from Waterford! My Grandfather was in the army and served in the first world war but I am not sure how to go about accessing military records. |
