I am having little joy in trying to find my Irish ancestors. I Have very little information to go on other than My Grandparents names and approximate YOB and death. Can anyone suggest a good place to start? All help gratefully received. Thanks.

It's really hard-my mum is Irish, i have been to Ireland and scoured her local parish records for info + graveyards--a lot of records are still held by local churches(especially catholic) and loads were lost to time in a fire in 1911. If you google Irish family History there are lots of sites which give help Carol

Thanks for your tips. My Irish family hail from Waterford! My Grandfather was in the army and served in the first world war but I am not sure how to go about accessing military records.
