I have sent my family tree to two other distant relatives On searching for My Relatives I see these two people are the Tree Owners Instead Of Me Shall I uninstall my tree and reinstall it I have asked genes but I cant wait no longer or am I getting annoyed over nothing Joyce |

Are you still the 'owner' of your own tree? If you are, then there is nothing wrong. The people to whom you sent the info are bound to be the 'owners' of their trees.........if they are GR members, that's how it works............ Hello Reggie Yes I am the tree owner as I thought till I sent these two relatives my family tree which they have included in theres now so when they ask for help say my 3rd great grandfather their name is listed as the tree owner How do I add another surname which isnt related ?? Joyce |

they have added names to thier tree as you are related so comes up as a match with their name next to it for thier tree they should have asked first if you minded them adding bits to their tree if they have living people you can ask them to remove them. not sure what you mean add diff surname to tree if you mean maiden name for someone add as apartner Jeanette |

Thank you Jeannette I am utterly confused I have a mother who is widowed with three children she remarries and has two more the father adopted her other three so they have his name now can I have the children with two different surnames or stay with the first one ???? Ill leave them as they are I think as I am tracing her first married surname dont pull all your hair out yet ( I hope Ive explained it enough) Joyce |

Joyce, hope I'm not confused here but you say second husband adopted the children...is this a recent time or from census records? You often find that children are listed with their stepfather's name on the census but may later marry using their original name. Heather |
