Is there anywhere online to view passenger lists from Australia to the UK ? I can find lots of places with lists to Australia, but none coming from there. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks. Alison

Hi Alison. There are not a lot of sites on the Net for outward passenger list from Australia, more so incoming. You could try this one, a rarity. Remove ( ) http://proarchives.imagineering(.)com.au/index_search.asp?searchid=42 An extract from the N.S.W State archives: Departures: The earliest surviving departure list is dated 1794, however apart from the Ships musters, 1816-25, outward passenger lists were not regularly maintained until 1898. The outward passenger lists are not indexed and do not provide much detail. Departures from Sydney after 1922 The National Archives of Australia (NAA), Sydney Office, holds Sydney outward passenger lists from 1923 onwards. Departures from Newcastle 1865-1935 The NAA also holds lists of departures from Newcastle between 1865 and 1935. Contacting National Archives of Australia The NAA's Sydney Office is located at: 120 Miller Street Chester Hill NSW 2162 Website: www.naa.gov.au Good luck. Tony Oz...:>))
