Has anyone notice the Public Member Photos on Ancestry? Just noticed them today and found one that is slightly connected to my family. Well worth a look. |

I haven't noticed them, where is the link on Ancestry to see them? I can't find it. |

Alison, at the moment the link is in the 'What's New on Ancestry' box at the right hand side of the home page. :-) Chris |

I have a tree on ancestry its great we (my aunt and I) are in the process of scanning our certs in and photos of ppl and area. it makes the tree so much more interesting and they don't have to be 150kb either!!!! |

I don't want to spoil anybody's fun, but just a word of caution regarding putting scans of BMD certificates on the internet. It does appear to infringe crown copyright. See specifically section 8d on the following webpage: http://www.opsi.gov(.)uk/advice/crown-copyright/copyright-guidance/copying-of-birth-death-and-marriage-certificates-and-marriage-registers.htm Not that I'm against certificates being posted on the internet, but it would be very easy to trace anyone who did it, if the HMSO had nothing better to do. :-( Chris |
