Can anyone who knows Cheshire tell me which section of the 1841 census I need to look at to find a specific house in the Appleton area. I found the house in the 1851 census under Appleton but I don't know where to look in 1841. I also wonder which records office would have the parish records for Antrobus and surrounding area. Many thanks Helen.

Appleton is part of Warrington now, so I assume it was then, but no doubt someone will say if I'm wrong! Patricia

The GENUKI webpage for Appleton states that the village of Appleton falls with the parish of Great Budworth. It appears that Great Budworth parish covered a lot of hamlets. 'Great Budworth, St. Mary and All Saints (C of E). A large ancient parish, originally serving the townships of Allostock, Anderton, Antrobus, Appleton, Aston by Budworth, Barnton, Bartington, Birches, Castle Northwich, Cogshall, Comberbach, Crowley, Dutton (part), Great Budworth, Hartford (part), Hulse, Lach Dennis, Little Leigh, Lostock Gralam, Marbury (near Northwich), Marston, Nether Peover, Northwich, Peover Inferior, Pickmere, Plumley, Rudheath (part), Seven Oaks, Stretton (near Runcorn), Tabley Inferior, Whitley Inferior, Whitley Superior, Wincham, Winnington and Witton cum Twambrooks. Registers of Baptisms 1558-1984, Marriages 1558-1989 and Burials 1558-1892 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office'
