I definitely need to check the 1901 Scottish Census but, with so many different sites I am unsure which one to use. I am happy to pay for the credits but would like to know if anyone could recommend the best Scottish Site to use and/or help me avoid the ones which are not so good. Thank you for your help Linda

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong - but I believe Scotlands People is the only site for viewing the 1901 census online. Mary

ScotlandsPeople. It has all the census returns and the bmd (remember Scottish civil registration dates are different to English). Parish records and lots more. You can download certs for a few credits and the certs are not only instant but more detailed than English ones, as well as a lot cheaper. Download the parish records etc in the same way and once a result has been viewed you can view it again as often as you like for free.

Thanks Doreen, Glen and Mary. Will definitely have a look at Scotlands People. Linda x
