Thanx for your help. Having problems find ing a relative who died in a Workhouse, Mum's driving me mad because she thinks I can get all the information at the drop of a hat! Jacquie |

Mine wasn't. He died in the workhouse and the master was the informant of the death, but he was buried in the churchyard of his home village, alongside his former wife. I wept buckets when the death cert came and I found he'd died in the workhouse, but as he died of 'Chronic diarrhoea', I wondered if he'd actually been taken into the workhouse infirmary. Think it varied, according to whether or not you were a permanent inmate. Jay |

When someone died in the Workhouse were they buried in a paupers grave? How can you find out? Thanx Jacquie |
