Hi Sue the registration district is Hambledon. I think it might be in Sussex now, though not sure. Sue |

Hi Sue Is it possible person giving information was not positive where he born so just said 'near Aldershot'? Not the brightest penny in the role when comes to geography. (L0L) Have not been able to locate Cranley on my on-line maps. Sue |

I am looking for my G.Grandfather on the 1881 census. Thomas Puttock born in Cranley, Surrey in 1862. I have his birth certificate. The only possible has him boarding in Newington, Lambeth which is where his children were born, but it states he was born in Aldershot. It says he is a milkman, which he was when he married, so it all seems possible except the Aldershot bit. Any thoughts please. Sue |
