Sorted! Thank you all so much. I had to delete in the end. The 'Change Sex' wasnt an option as my Mary Ann was already there as 'female'. Ann |

Chris has got it, just change the sex. I do this all the time when entering names as the default is Female. No harm done, just correct the details. The only time you should need to correct errors is 1) to delete someone altogether from the database 2) to remove incorrect spouses / partners 3) to remove / move incorrect children. |

So the bride and groom are the wrong gender but have the correct parents? If you simply delete the names and re-enter them in the correct places for their gender then they will skow with the wrong parents. When you show them in the parents family view are they down as the correct gender? If they are wrong can you simply change them to the correct gender and solve the problem? Are the rest of the relationships correct? Parents, grandparents, children and grandchildren etc.You might have to resort to using the 'fix relationship' option. Glen |

I dont think I should do that because if as you say I highlight Mary Ann and go into 'people' and delete her what will happen to her parents that are above her name? I hope I've explained this properly. Ann |

Hi Ann, I've just tried this and it seemed to work: Open up the Edit Individual window for either the husband or wife. Under the Full Name box, there is one that says Sex. Change this from Male to Female, or Female to Male, and save the changes. Then (important bit) do the same for the spouse. The husband and wife should then be swapped over. I hope that helps. :-) Chris |

Hello there. Two ways to do this. On the relevant page highlight one of the wrong ones, Then go to top line and click on people. Then click on 'Delete individual' , then type in the right details. Do this for each. The other and possibly the easier way is to highlight one of the wrong persons and type in the right details. Move cursor down to any other box and click. FTM will ask you if you mean the amended person to be the son/daughter of etc. You say yes. Then do the same for the other one. Good luck. Keith |

I dont know how I have done this but on the Family View page of a married couple of mine - The wife Mary Ann is under the title Husband and her husband Charles is under the title Wife, they both have the correct Parents at the top of the page and obviously further down their children. I have tried unsuccessfully to correct my mistake and have sent an email to the online help centre but still waiting for a reply. Can anyone help me please? Ann |
