Hi I have found on a census Mary Jane Hope born abt 1849 Sunnisde Durham. I have found that her marriage took place in Chester le Street 1874 but confused myself for her birth. Any fresh eyes please?

Can you give her in any census? birth Mary Jane Hope 1849 Jan-Feb-Mar Houghton Le Spring Durham

Reg I am looking for a birth, I didn't realise the compulsory registrations were 1875 thanks for that. I have her on the 1881 census with husband Robert Robinson at Cornforth Moor Farm, Sedgefield, Stockton. I have her details from thier son's birth certificate from 1883. Robert remarried in 1888. So I think she probably died. It was so I could start looking for her in previous census, etc Thanks

Thanks Jim this is the info for the 1881 she is with Robert RG11; Piece: 4902; Folio: 39; Page: 6 Reg that is the marriage I found, their first (known) child was born 1876

You need the marriage cert.....it will tell you who her father was, which should enable you to find the family in censuses up to 1871 Reg

Thanks Jim, I know of a Sunniside in Gateshead area, and I was told there was one in Sunderland area too. This is what confuses me!
