Brenda The death registration 20846/1941 is Valentine who married Florence ... Death registration 33902/1970 is Valentine's wife - Rose Ellen - so her parents then were Daniel and Ann. Birth registration 12043/1902 is Valentine L Hutchinson - son of Valentine and Rose. Can now arrange to get those certificates - thank you so much :)) I'd love to find out how Valentine got to Australia ...... would he have had to apply for a passport in England to enable him to travel to Australia? ............... would the passport office give out any information ?? There is a Valentine Hutchinson on the medal cards that states he was a Captain in the Army medical corp. 1914 -1920 youcan download the cards for £3.50(I think). Florence Hodkinson Moulsdale born Birkenhead 1874, she may have had a double wedding with her brother Percy born 1870, both on the same entry. Parents John & Margaret Moulsdale. Also A Val-a-ntine Hutchinson married at Beckenham Kent 1820, may have been grandfather of your Valentine. Good luck Irene

According to his enlistment application for a commission in the Australian Army on 17/09/1914, Valentine Hutchinson was born on 10/05/1875 in New Brompton, Kent he was then 39yrs and 4months old] Valentine also stated that he had previous military experience in that he had served 5yrs with the Madras V Guards in B India. He was a British Subject, married to Mrs Rose E Hutchinson. However ...................... I have a marriage certificate that shows he married Florence H Moulsdale in August 1898 at St Judes, Edge Hill, Liverpool ! The 1901 census shows Florence at her parents home - no sign of Valentine. There is also a marriage certificate dated 14/05/1901 for Valentine Hutchinson [bachelor ! aged 28] and Rose Ellen Foley [aged23] in Victoria, Australia. Valentine and Rose had 2 children born in 1902 and 1906. His war records show a change of address for his n-o-k to 30 Burgesswell Road, Chelmsford Essex in 1917. [not Rose cos she was still in Australia]. The war records also show correspondence from a lady in Scotland and one in Paris asking for the whereabouts of the elusive Valentine. In 1930 Valentine met a lady called Dorothy in Sydney, Australia - set up home with her and had 2 more children, the youngest, John, only found out 10 yrs that his parents werent married !! Sorry it's so long-winded ........... our problem is ......... we can't find any record of Valentine. Has anyone got any ideas please ?????????? Angie
