I hope this is the right board to post this... I am interested discovering the parents of William David Walker. If anyone can help show me the way I should be going I would be very grateful. His naval record shows that his date of birth is 07/06/1883 and that he was born in lambeth, london This date of birth is upheld by the 1901 census where he is shown at the age of 17 on the HMS Impregnable, but this does not show any of his family. (Detail: Class: RG13; Piece: 2186; Folio: 112; Page: 1.) I know he married Beatrice Annie Hartwell Blount in Apr/May/June 1911 in lambeth. (England & Wales, FreeBMD Marriage Index: 1837-1983, Apr-May-Jun 1911, Volume 2d Page 458.) I cannot seem to find his birth or an entry for him in the 1891 census on ancestry.co.uk. I would be very very grateful for any help. Can anyone suggest what I should try next?

There is this one Births Jun 1883 (>99%) WALKER William David Islington 1b 334 Just because he said Lambeth did mean he 'was' born there, he might have grown up there. If you order his marriage cert it will hopefully give you his fathers name, then you could order the above cert giving his fathers name as a reference. Regards Mhairi
