Ancestry sponsor Freebmd, are you by any chance clicking on their advert at the top of the Freebmd page? Scroll further down and you will be able to search the Freebmd indexes without being taken to the ancestry site. The web address is http://www.freebmd.org.uk |

There is FreeBMD www.freebmd.org.uk or on ancestry you get the complete indexs, and since youve registered you should get them for free www.ancestry*co*uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx Mhairi |

You need to register with Ancestry to access the bmd records. If you are using ancestry then you are best using the FULL index not the partial one. There is also a freebmd website which is again only partially complete. For events prior to 1910 it can be useful but remember it is NOT complete. www.ancestry*co*uk www.freebmd*org*uk replace* with dots |
