I have today received the birth certificate for my G G Grandfather. From this I have been trying to locate the marriage of his parents without success. The only one I have found states that the mother has been married previously. Would my GG Grandfathers birth certificate give both her maiden name and her first marriage name if his mother had been marriage before? UPDATE - I have today received the marriage certificate for Robert Parry and Ann Roberts (for the second time), it is not the correct one, I even put reference checks, but they have been ignored (but that's another story). Can anyone help me by finding another marriage for a Robert and Ann between 1861 & 1871. Thanks Jo xx |

Ozi Thanks for your reply. Knowing my luck the question hadn't been asked. I think I will have to send for the certificate for the marriage I have found (again, have purchased it once, but cannot find it or remember the fathers names) and hopefully it will be the right one. Jo xx |

Hi Rose Thanks for your offer. I have the birth certificate for Robert Parry born 13/1/1874 in Flint Flintshire. Son of Robert Parry a Coal Miner and Ann Roberts. I have found a marriage for a Robert Parry and an Ann Roberts in 1868 on Flintshire UKBMD, but this states Ann Roberts and Ann Davies on the same page. I do know that Robert married late in life he was approx 40 years old, so it is more than likely Ann had been married before. I have previously sent for the marriage cert and have mislaid it now for this Robert and Ann, but couldn't tie it in as it stated that Ann was from Prestatyn (If I remember correctly), but on the 1881 census she was born in Bagillt. Any help would be appreciated. Jo xx |

Ozi Thanks for the information. I know they married between 1861 and 1871 as I have found Robert on the 1861 census living in Swan Lane on his own and unmarried. On the 1851 he is living with his parents Peter & Elizabeth Parry. Jo xx |

Ozi Thanks for all your help. I think I will have to wait and check the Flint/Bagillt parish records next time I visit Flintshire Records Office. I was hoping to go today, but just my luck there are closed this week for stock taking. Jo xx |

Ozi As far as I can remember as I have mislaid the cert, she was living in Prestatyn at the time of the marriage, but I cannot remember where Robert was living, I am sure it wasn't Flint. Jo xx |

Jo Did you know that there's a PARRY one name study? Maybe the researcher knows the details of this marriage / family. You can contact her from the following link. http://www.one-name.org/cgibin/search.cgi?find=4004 Gwyn |
