im trying to locate marriage records for SALLY A CHAPMAN,born in 1945 in WINCHESTER,HAMPSHIRE. i believe her husband is german & his name is HANS,they apparently have a son called LANCE. they all used to live in SOUTHAMPTON till about mid 80s that i know of. her fathers name is CLIFFORD CHARLES CHAPMAN (1922) and her mothers name before marriage was DAPHNE SMITH,there was also another daughter by the name of HEATHER CHAPMAN who i think was slightly older/younger than SALLY that im trying to trace details of.... pls if any one can help id be very greatfull as so many blanks to fill in.... ali.

Realistically you are trying to find the marriage which could have happened from around 1965 onwards. The only way to be sure is to check the marriage index for potential matches, however you say they had a son in the 1980's. Based on that it would mean she would be late 30's or possibly even early forties when he was born, are you sure this is her first marriage? Could it be a 2nd marriage (late 1970's or early 1980's?) If you knew her married surname then the easy method would be to look for the birth reference for their son but that is a non starter if you don't know the surname.

hello and thank you for the message yove posted. after checking with a family member it would seem that thier son LANCE wouldve been in his teens in at least dec 81/jan 82. SALLY has only ever been married the once as far as we know. ali

There are 6 Sally Chapman marriages between 1965 and 1968, only two show up for Sally A Chapman, one is in Stroud district Q2 1967 and one in Grimbsy district Q1 1965.

a few updates incase any one reading this can assist me. it would seem that SALLY CHAPMAN married EDWARD SILLS in 1961,they then had a son LANCE in 1962,at some point SALLY got divorced from EDWARD and then that should be where her GERMAN hubby came in to the picture... it seems his name is HANS KITTSCHA and when SALLY married him both her & LANCE also took the surname KITTSCHA. ali

thank you every one for all the help youve given me so far on here,but i wanted to say that with all the info ive been given & found myself,that it has led to a couple of very long & emotional telephone calls between myself & sally & lance. alas that brings me to my next quest which i hope should fill in the last few blanks on my tree. DAVID WHITE born around 1963-1966 to a JOAN WOODFORD who was wed to a UNKNOWN WHITE in SOUTHAMPTON. last known of in SOUTHAMPTON in APRIL 1982. ali
