Would anyone know where I can find a list of mayors of Knutsford, Cheshire? I know my Great Uncle (Edward Silas Thomas) was a councillor and have been led to believe he was mayor and would like to find out if this is true. Thanks, Liz |

Hi Liz, I've just been trying to find out the very same thing, only I'm after a list of mayors for Rotherham. I contacted the Rotherham Archives (part of the Local Studies Library) with a name and dates, and they said they will send me a copy of the list of mayors, plus a short biog and photo from the relevant Rotherham Annual, for their standard fee of £3.50. I'm awaiting the results. :-) Failing Reg's suggestion, the local archives might have the answer for you. Chris |

We have been handed down a story that a rellie was the mayor of Bootle, Lancashire in the latter part of the 1800s. I managed to find a site that gave a list of all mayors from early 1800s to the present. Guess what......my rellie was not amongst them. Kathlyn |
