Barbara, I have already passed those to Colin, also some census results including - so that you dont have to duplicate: The family seem to be in Wales - the 1861 shows a Thomas possibly the son, as a gamekeeper/traveller. I understand this is a likely occupation as he was a travelling ag journeyman. Colin you may want to post all the other snippets of info on here to help people. 1841 England Census about TH Parisse Name: TH Parisse Age: 40 Estimated birth year: abt 1801 Household: View other family members Gender: Male Where born: Foreign Parts Civil parish: St James Hundred: Westminster County/Island: Middlesex Country: England Source information: HO107/736/9 Registration district: St James Westminster Sub-registration district: St James Square ED, institution, or vessel: 9 Folio: 26 Page: 46 (click to see others on page) Line number: 16 GSU Number: 438837 Is this Thomas' son Name: Thomas Parisse Age: 30 Estimated birth year: abt 1861 Relation: Head Spouse''s name: Gwenllian Gender: Male Where born: Monmouthshire, Wales Civil parish: Llanover Ecclesiastical parish: Blaenavon Town: Blaenavon County/Island: Monmouthshire Country: Wales Registration district: Abergavenny Sub-registration district: Blaenavon ED, institution, or vessel: 6 Household Members: Name Age Amy Jones 17 Gwenllian Parisse 30 Thomas Parisse 30 Thomas R Parisse 11/12 Sophia Phelps 21 And theres this complication (place of birth) Thomas Grove Parriss Year of Registration: 1861 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Coventry County: Warwickshire, West Midlands Volume: 6d Page: 419 (click They seem a VERY complicated lot to trace. And a name ripe for mistrans unfortunately. I think the only way forward Colin is to buy certs of those you know are definitely of your family and see if the information can lead you further. |
