Can anybody see John Kemp born 1869/70 and his wife, Alice Elizabeth Kemp born 1872/73 Portsmouth. They married in 1892 but I can't find them. Thanks |

Alice was born Alice Elizabeth Creese, registered Portsea Island in the 2nd quarter of 1874 and married in 1892 to John Kemp in the 2nd quarter and same place as her birth. Still haven't spotted them yet but still looking! Jack |

Is she shown as single on the census then? Oh see you say she is. Who is little William? Did they have a son called William? Does the Ray family have any connection to her? |

This doesn't add up at all. I saw the single boarder one but it can't be her. Thanks for trying one and all |

I had trouble finding my Gt Grandmother on the 1901 and assumed she had died as she was 59 then, however when l entered the name of her youngest child l struck lucky, problem was Gt Grandmother had been transcribed as 39 not 59, easy to see how that happened, maybe something like that has happened with your family, try the youngest child alive at that time.
