What you have to hope and pray is that they are both OTP of this parish and were baptised themselves in the parish. If this is so and they are not John and Sarah Smith or something which is so common you wont be able to sort one from another, then when you find the marriage you trawl backwards in the register to find their baptism which will give dads name and usually just the first name of the mother. You then trawl backwards again to find the marriage of the mother and father and back again to find their baptisms. You can go to the records office local to the event or you can look on the IGI of the familysearch.org site (dont trust anything submitted by members) or you can order the microfiche up to view at the local Mormons office - the addresses are shown on the familysearch.org site. Welcome to the real researching bit now! |

Parish records for that time don't give details of the fathers. All you will get is full name of the bride and groom, whether they were of the parish or not, possibly the grooms occupation and the names of the witnesses. Sam x |

You will have to know where they got married,or at least have an idea of the area.Lots of parish records have been transcribed,so you may be lucky and find something on line.Local libraries might also hold the records you are after. If you put a thread up with all the details that you have I am sure that someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
