Army photos of my grandad

Is there anyway someone could tell what regiment etc... my grandad was in, in the army from looking at a photo of him in his uniform??? Also where would i find someone who could do this, and where and what info would knowing that info give me, as i dont know anything about him and he is nolonger living |

You could try on the Long, Long Trail message board. If you post a photo of him someone would be able to help you I am sure. Regards Jill |

Marie, If his badge is discernable, there are a number of websites showing regimental badges - just google and something will pop up. If - big 'if' - you are able to identify the badge yourself, you can then go directly to the regimental museum or association for more information. I've found them very helpful indeed. Good luck. Hi Marie Had this problem as well - this site might help (www.)national-army-museum.ac.(uk) I also had a 'mail' conversation with another org but can't remember the name, will have a look and see if I kept any of the mails. regards looby |
