I'm trying to find Bethsheba Norman in the 1901 census. I have looked on ancestry and tried all the spellings I know, wild cat etc. I can't find a death for her. In 1881 census she called herself Ann. She was born Toole in 1851 in Ratcliff Middlesex and married Thomas Norman 1871. Thomas is in a lodging house in Bow road in 1901 but where is Bethsheba? Regards Joan

On the 1901 census Thomas is down as a widower so I think she has died

Looks like a M on the 1901 census to me not W and I can't find a death for her between 1891 and 1901. Joan

Sorry Joan looking at wrong thomas boarding!! Yes it is definately a M for married, have looked for Bathsheba, but no luck I am afraid.....Just tried looking for a Bathsheba born in Middlesex with no second name and looked at all entries....nothing!

Thanks Fuzzy. I have found info about other ancestors in the least expected places and strang names, but I am running out of ideas for Bethsheba! Joan

Joan, On Ancestry Public Trees, she is named Bathsheba, and not Bethsheba. Barbara.

Just thought I would add this for reference.....How strange that there is a huge gap between John 1886 and the other children....Have tried looking for John 1886 in 1901, but he seems to be missing too! I assume you have bathsheba toole before her marriage on the 1851 and 1861 parents martin and elizabeth. Fuzzy

Have you looked for her by her initial + surname? If she was in hospital, the full forename may not have been recorded............ Reg

Hi Reggie, Yes have tried looking for a B Norman as one of my great grandfathers was listed by an initial only...no show though! She maybe listed under two initials I suppose..ie BN ....would be hard to prove it is her especially if she is in an institution! Think Joan has tried all sorts with this girlie! UPDATE Have tried looking under B N and nothing that remotely fits!! fuzzy
