Some AV programs don't like it if they are in competion, others don't seem to mind. I have AVG and ANTIVIR on my PC at present and they seem to be quite happy with each other. Norton does seem to be very finicky, it is probably better than most than catching the nasties but when it stops working it it a nightmare to fix. The problem with making a call on one porgram versus another is a difficult one.How do you actually know that one is better at stopping viruses?, or is it just usability that you are making a judgement on? |

I run Norton and AVG on the same PC without any prob's. If a virus is missed by one then it's usually stopped by the other anti-virus software. |

I am posting this on behalf of a friend. At present she has AVG installed on her computer and wants to remove it to install Norton. Can anyone tell me if its correct to uninstall a previous antivirus before installing a new one. Another concern is, is that she has some viruses locked in the virus vault and she is worried that if by uninstalling, the viruses will be back on the computer. I don't know if she is able to delete the viruses or whether it won't let her........Thanks for any help. |
