I have recently paid for a search by Louth County Library, but it has produced no additional information. I think because the sources used are Catholic records.I am searching for information about the marriage of my Great Grandparents, who I believe were Anglican. Their son, my Grandfather was born in Collon, Louth, in 1881. Can anyone tell me the best way to access Church of Ireland records, without travelling in person. All the search engines I have used so far have failed to locate my people. Thanks Maggie |

Some Mormon Family History centre have the Irish BMD Index for the whole of Ireland. Non catholic from 1845. As you know the names of the parents, if you have a centre near you I'd suggest trawling through the Indexes back fromthe birth year to see when both names match for Area volume and page number. If you do go ask for an automatic film reader as rewinding copious amounts of films plays havoc with your wrist!! teresa |
