Can anyone tell me the next step please. I've researched all I can on the Census records and have been told I now have to go to the Parish Records. Where do I get access to these, is there a central place or do I have to start trotting around the country? If it's the latter and I don't know where the event took place, what then!!!! Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks Linda |

Hi Linda, Mostly it will be trotting around the country im afraid (but its fun). Parish records tend to be held in the county archives for the relevant county where the event took place. Have you tried the IGI for possible information? http://www.familysearch.org/ Some of the records may be found on there, but it is always safer and recommended to check the records yourself as some of the submitted information is wrong, extracted records tend to be better. |

If the LDS have filmed the records for your parish of interest, you can order the film to view at your local LDS family history centre for a few pounds (£, I think, but it varies). I rely on this method for researching my ancestors as my county of interest is 500 miles from where I now live. OC |
