This is the address for the GRO to order certificates online. I don't think the London register offices will supply certificates for family history purposes. Do you have the GRO reference for the certificate? http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ Kath. x |

No unfortunatley I don't have a GRO number. I know that when I go to the Register office in Birmingham, I just give them the name of the person and the date of birth and they produce the certificate and Dad has written to them with the same info and money for payment and they have sent it out. So I thought that if I had the postal address for the registery office I could do the same. Oh well I better get onto Ancestry and look for the GRO number. Thanks Helen |

Most register offices DO supply certificates. Unfortunately the London ones seem to be too busy with current day certificates and usually just direct you to the GRO. There may be the odd one that will supply them so it might be worth getting in touch with them just in case. To be honest, I find it easier to order on line anyway. Kath. x |
