Can somebody please help me? I have found relatives who in the 1881 census have birthplaces listed as St. Georges in the East Middlesex. I have gone back to the 1861 census and believe I have traced them but the birthplaces are London Aldersgate and Middlesex Whitecahpel. Would these be the same? Thank you Alan

Hi Alan Possibly!!! They are all in generally the same area - I must admit some of mine have me baffled sometimes and they are in the same areas - I have found some of the Alan Godfrey maps invaluable in trying to unravel them. either google 'Alan Godfrey maps' or go to (remove brackets) www(.)alangodfreymaps(.)co(.)uk good hunting - it's a jungle in that area about that time LOLOL regards Looby

Places of birth can be very fluid, this would be in the general area and if everything else matches it wouldnt worry me personally.
