I have been trying for the past 5 years to locate to marriage of Martha TRELORE (born 21 Sept 1871 - Penllyn, Glamorgan )to David EVANS (born 1870 Pyle, Bridgend, Glamorgan). According to the birth certificates of their children, Thirza Mary Catherine, Ida Annie, Glyndwr and Madeline Evans they were married. Also accoring to 1901 Census they were married. However I have been unable to find a record of their wedding in any index. Please help. There is a possiblilty that Martha and David were first cousins as names and dates match, additionally one Martha's brothers was lodging with David's parents (cousin David that is ) in the 1891 census. Thanks

What age where they when the first child was born? It may be that one was already married and, as divorce was expensive they would live together as man and wife. My G Grandparents lived together for 20 years and had 9 children before they married - 2 years before their eldest got wed!! On all the birth certificates, she is Mrs X, and all the children have their father's surname X). They had 2 children in wedlock. G Grandfather had been married before and they didn't marry until his first wife died. Luckily for us my gran found out and told us - hence we knew approximately the right time to look. maggie

Maggie David was about 25 and Martha would have been 24 when Thirza was born. Incidently it appears that none of their children were baptized, or I am yet to find any evidence of such. Could this be linked to them not being married? Thanks
