I am with Tiscali and have been very impressed with them - until lately. One of my friends almost always ends up in Spam when I check the Tiscali message board. Tried contacting them but get all sorts about settings etc. Don't agree. Have AVG antivirus and nobody else ends up in Spam! Mind you a couple of Spam mails have filtered through to my inbox just lately which I delete unopened. I may be an I.T. illiterate and imagine that a little man sits there going through them but I'm not that daft!!!! Any ideas??? NOBODY ELSE DOES - THEY ALL COME THROUGH TO MY INBOX. |

If all your other friends are getting through, then it sounds like a problem her end, not yours? Is she with an unusual server that may not be recognised as 'legit'? Are there any settings which will let you put in her addy and allow? In the meantime, can she open a h o t mail account which should be fine to get through? |

I have had that problem before but it has said you can tick something if it is not spam then it will come through. If that doesn't work then are you sure her email address is written down right in your address book because if it has one letter different it wont reconise it and send it to spam. Debbie |

Jay, I'm also with Tiscakli and have hade the odd email dropped into spam folder (Outlook Express). I don't use AVG anymore, I use Norton. If I highlight the email in the spam folder I can click on 'This is not Spam' in Norton. This place's it back in the normal inbox and any future mail from that email is not classifed as spam. Is there not a similar facility in AVG? good luck Dreekie |

Jay, If you use Outlook Express there is a facility there to place these emails into any folder you wish: Go to 'Message' on tool bar Go to 'Create Rule from Message' the rest is strait forward. Dreekie |

Another possibility is that if she is sending a particular email to more than one person, for example a group, this too can be identified as junk mail. Also, if certain words are used in the subject line it can result in the message being wrongly sent to your spam folder. |

re Janet's suggestion about opening a Hotmail account. I did that and the first thing it did was decide a message was Spam and put in junk mail !!! Aplogies - it was Heather not Janet. |

It could be some words in the title she uses for her messages or something in the message content. Without seeing the messages it's hard to tell. Rose |

First of all can you confirm if you are logging in to Tiscali direct to access your emails or are you using Outlook / Outlook Express. This will help determine who or what is capturing your spam. I use Hot mail as my Spam catcher and if they trap something by mistake, then all I need to do is to log in, then select the item and confirm it is ok to go to my inbox. Thats it then for this email address. Similarly is there is some real spam then I tell Hot mail to treat email from this sender as junk, and I never see anythin again from this address. Tiscali will have a similar function, no doubt. If the Spam is being caught by AVG or Outlook then the means of dealing with it is different. |
