Help. I was contacted through Ancestry and we have established that we are possibly related. They have told me to view their tree on Genesreunited. How do I do that when they haven't contacted me through them. What do we need to do to establish a contact and give permissions to view trees on GR. Linda

The person concerned will have to send you a message through genes so that they appear in your contacts list. You will also appear in their contacts list. They will then have to go into this list and put a tick in the box next to your name where it says 'let them view tree'. You could tell them to look for this thread on Tips Board (give them the date and title), and then they just need to click on your name to send you a message. Kath. x

If you are in their hotmatches they can simply contact you leaving the permission to see the tree ticked - otherwise I think they will need to contact you through genes and then give permission that way. Anne
