Does anyone know whether the census info was at the start or end of the census year? i have relatives that are 1 mth (on 1881 census) and 8 mths (on 1861 census) at the time of the census, but there are a few possibilites on the BDM indexes. Knowing whether the censuses were taken at the start or end of a year might help me track them down for slightly less money!!

OR you an find the date a census was taken while looking at that census ...... scroll down the screen to below the tables, and there is a lot of writing giving information on that particular census, by scrolling further down you will see something that says about when the census was taken. Click on the Click Here to get further information ...... like the date the census was taken. Also did you know that you can find out more about the area where your rellies lived? ....... look above the table with your peoples' names, and you will see a whole listing of place names all separated by >> ....... click on one of these and it will describe the limits of the geographical area within which those reports were taken.
