I have been told that one of my ancestors was as a master mason working at the Royal Naval Base in Simonstown, South Africa at the turn of the century. Does anyone know where I may be able to find records to confirm this? As he was not a sailor or soldier I assume he won't have a military record. Thanks, Ben.
