Jim, i think that the Henry in Southampton in 1881 is my Henry - suppost to read paulton not alton? 1891 married to Annette - who comes from southampton, 1901 my grandfather Harry appears, with his brother, my gt uncle Charles Bull - the only other member of the family that we ever met. Another point, on my grandparents marriage cert, it states that Harrys father was actually called Henry Roger Bull. I think that i'm on to the right Henry, i just can't find his birth. unless he was illegimate,and lied about the father. I'll just keep searching! thanks for your help. Sue :)

You mention Paulton. Hi Linda, Thanks for infomation, don't think it's the right Henry, but will double check. I'll find him, even if it means a trip to Somerset Parish offices.. would it be worth going i wonder, i'd ask someone to have a look for me, but not that straight forward! Thanks again. Sue :)

Please excuse my rambling, but looking for the 'Bull' side of my family is DRIVING ME MAD!! I've traced my gt grandfather Henry Bull- born about 1855- as far 1881census, i have his marriage cert, death cert, and know that he was born in Paulton Somerset - but then all gets a bit muddled. He states has father was a Zachariah Bull (dec) , the Zachariah i thought must be i traced to 1841 cencus, also born in paulton. He was married to a Mary Curtis (have cert) in 1839. He died in 1849. I've exhausted all the Henrys i can find born around 1855, none seemed right - i'm talking about birth records now, and the only one that seemed possible was born in Clutton in 1852, but when arrived no father, just mother Mary Bull - ahhhh!!! Did i say this was driving me nuts?! Also Zachs family although were born in paulton Somerset seemed to pop up on the Wales cencus - Bedwellty Monmouthshire, or paulton, monmouthshire! Were coalminers. Now, i'm wondering if - a big if - i have the right family, did Mary re marry Zachs brother John - have them on 1871 wales - but still none the wiser on who's Henrys father is, as Zachariah died before he was born!! I don't blame anyone for taking one look at all this confusion,and going to bed! - but at least it made me feel a bit better!! If anyone does have an idea where i can go now, i would be sooo grateful!! Sue
