Kelly It does say she is there because she is ill, and that she is married. On the 1891 she is given as a confectioner, which is what the 1901 also says. I would bet it is probably the same person.

There is also a death of a Richard White in Dec. 1897, aged 44, in St. Geo in the East (1c/289)

Looking at the image and then the details for the Enumeration District that Maggie found, the children are 'inmates' in St Georges E School Separate Schools of the Parish Gypsy Lane East Ham Sylvia

I think the other children would all have been out on their own by 1901, checking their ages they would have been in their twenties, except for Nellie and she was still old enough to have been working somewhere. I looked up the St George Schools and you can find more about them onhttp://www.british-history*ac*uk/report.asp?compid=42747 (remove * put in dot) It might be that this family was one of those unfortunate ones that were split up after the death of the father, when the mother was not well enough to care for the younger children. Sad.
