I have a birth cert for Ethel Armstrong , dated 21.12.1890, her parents are shown as William Armstrong and Annie Armstrong nee Morton.The 1891 census shows them as a large family living in South Shields, Annie's name here is Annie B Armstrong. The 1861 census shows Annie as a youngster living with her family near South Shields,her name here is Ann Bell Morton. I have found a record of her birth in 1851 (this is how I found her in the 1861 census), but there is no trace of a marriage, or of either of them in any other census. Does anybody know where I should look next, or is this the brick wall I have read about? Duncan
