As a novice geneologist I am completely stuck on a branch I have found in Tasmania. I have looked at a number of websites that have helped me a little but need a bit of a heads up on what to do next ! I'd really appreciate anyone who's out there who is able to guide me! Thankyou Claire x |

Hi Ozi, The info I need is from the 1850's onwards. I need to know how I would go about checking info and also if I'd be able to order certificates from over here. Also are there any other searchable websites for births, deaths and marriages? I've used a couple of websites such as : portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?search=2 http://resources.archive.tas.gov.au which i've got a little bit of info from but now stuck on how to trace the lineage foward. |

Claire don't go looking for census from here as I've recently found out they were destroyed. Apparently the last census in 2006 is the first census that the goverenment is kepping on file (not that it will help us at all!LOL) I found alot of help on SA through some sites. I've found a Tas one so maybe trawl through that. You will need to contact members on most of them that own BMD CD's and they will always help. I have gotten alot of BMD info this way for the early aussies. REMOVE *** http://www.genealogylinks.*net/australia/tasmania/index.*html http://resources.rootsweb.*com/world/Australia/Tasmania/ |
