If you go to familysearch.org and look under research help you will find a lot of advice on looking for german ancestors. I think they have also transcribed some german parish records. If you type german ancestors or similar into the search box here you should get some useful threads. Anne

If you enter a google search for German Ancestors there are websites dedicated to them. Do they not give a town on the census or an area even? Their marriage certs often add a town? I have one who came over in a wave of German sugar bakers. There is even a website for them! Google, google, google.!

My grt grandfather came to england sometime between1880 and 1890 , i can't find were from or how , has anyone ideas of how to trace the german side of my family . Thanks Rob.
