I would like to thank everyone who helped me find about the Sawden family. I am now trying to find out a bit more about my grandmother who was married to Arthur Jabez Sawden in 1901. She was Alice Mary Malkin b 1868 East Cowton. Her parents were Jesse & Hannah Malkin. She had a brother John Jarvis Malkin b 1859, 2 sisters Jane Anna Malkin b1861 & Elizabeth Anne Malkin b 1863. Her father died in 1872 & her mother remarried a John Jennings who was a Station Master at Dalton North Yorks. I think they had a daughter called Minnie E Jennings but l don't when or where they got married. If any one knows anything about them please get in touch. Free BMD has the death of Jesse Malkin, June quarter 1872, Northallerton, YK, age 37 (9d 335) Margaret Oops, just noticed the discrepancy in age from the 71 census.
